Corallo

The Coral Room bares this name in reference to the lampshades on the walls and ceiling, designed by Maria Grazia Bonsignore. The Red coral (Corallium rubrum) is symbolic of the Tree as the axis of the world; of Water as the source of life and the origin of all creatures; and of Blood (due to the red color reminiscent of blood vessels), which is also a symbol of life and generation. One of the walls of this room is the color of the sun, a striking yellow that provides a luminosity which is contrasted by the blue and green tones of the drapes and bedspread. The bed has been crafted from wrought iron in traditional Sicilian fashion.
The room has a private bathroom with mosaic tiles, complete with its own bathtub.
